As many will have realised as the houses at the Bramblehay development looked to be close to completion work stopped. This was due to the building firm which was managing the development, Brookvale Homes of Yeovil, going into administration. This was really frustrating for Marshwood CLT, for Hastoe Housing association, and especially for those prospective tenants who were looking forward to moving into their new homes. The 2014 AGM (Annual General Meeting) of MARSHWOOD CLT Will take place on Monday 20th October 2014 @ 7.30pm at Blackdown Village Hall Following the formal AGM business there will be an opportunity for discussion on the neighbourhood plan
Come along to Blackdown hall on Tuesday 30th September 2014 any time between 3:30 pm and 7:30pm to meet Hastoe Housing Association. Find out about the affordable houses currently being built in Marshwood. All are welcome, especially those who would be interested in living in one of the new houses.
As work progresses on the building of our affordable houses signs have gone up by the site entrance informing everyone what is happening.
We asked Marshwood CLT members and other local residents to help us choose a name for our affordable houses. Several suggestions were given and the overwhelming feedback was that ‘Bramblehay‘ was the most favoured option. So how did the name Bramblehay come about? Well one CLT member suggested Bramble Close due to the amount of brambles that grow in the field hedge. Then a CLT board member said how about Bramblehay as ‘Hay’ is an old word for an enclosure that is common in local farm names. Hastoe Housing Association will now liaise with the local council and Royal Mail.
