Find out about the affordable houses currently being built in Marshwood.
All are welcome, especially those who would be interested in living in one of the new houses.
We asked Marshwood CLT members and other local residents to help us choose a name for our affordable houses. Several suggestions were given and the overwhelming feedback was that ‘Bramblehay‘ was the most favoured option.
So how did the name Bramblehay come about? Well one CLT member suggested Bramble Close due to the amount of brambles that grow in the field hedge. Then a CLT board member said how about Bramblehay as ‘Hay’ is an old word for an enclosure that is common in local farm names.
Hastoe Housing Association will now liaise with the local council and Royal Mail.
West Dorset District Council have approved our planning application for affordable housing in Marshwood.

West Dorset District Council have considered the plans for our Affordable Houses at Thane Farm and wished to make some amendments. These amendments affect the wall finishes which were to have been of brick with some timber faced walls.
They propose to retain the timber facings but wish to introduce some flint with brick quoins and on others the wall finish will be rendered. In addition house 5 will be turned by 90 degrees to form a terrace of the 5 houses facing the road.
These details will remain until the third week in November when a final decision will be made.
